Finding a refuge

From the first practice, it was the stillness and the simplicity. A refuge, however brief, from the whirling of the mind. A tantalising taste of peace and a sense that this would lead onwards, could be developed, could be a real way out of suffering.

It seemed “wholesome” and rigorous but worth the effort. Balanced and well-rounded - not speculative, but grounded in the body. So simple, to use the process of breathing as a starting point; anchoring the mind to reality, dispelling delusions.
