Meditation helps me find a simplified attentive space in my daily life. Whatever the difficulties and challenges of the day it is possible for me to return to a place of greater mental clarity & balance. As my confidence has grown, I have become more aware. Relatively early on I noticed that I was more likely to hear birds singing in the garden, or to notice clouds, or the clear sky. I find it possible to see more of life’s challenges as part of “the path” and as opportunities for growth rather than as a threat
Together with this, I have found a kind of growing emotional openness to both positive & negative emotions – and a growing ability to work skilfully with either. As a naturally quiet person, practice has made me more comfortable with my quietness and yet more able to speak my mind. I have become more tolerant of myself, and others.
My mother-in-law says meditation is good for me!
